End Not In Death

Death draws souls like no other event of life

The final farewell, a last chance to acknowledge

Life’s end, untimely the call to one’s demise.

Ceasing to exist for the living, soul where art thou?

In release thou revelling, a freedom born to thee

The living in sorrow drowning here, doth thou see?

Worry for them that shoulder life’s burden

The loved ones that thou hath left behind

Rejoice in thy release, thy lightened baggage

O thou in unfailing love shower all thy blessings

Thy demise let not be for the living to suffer.

The poem has in a labyrinthine way of absolute serenity captured the essence of the dimension of the soul as it is released from the shackels of bodily death assuming the burdens of the living and yet that of peace wandering on its upward journey in the cosmic ether of futurity !

Yes prabhu. It was a moving moment for me sitting in the funeral tent while Mataji was singing Thevaram and bhajans.
