Simply A Tree by Thurairaj

A leading Malaysian artist, Jeganathan Ramachandram is on a journey of exploration in the north of Malaysia. He says he is meeting many interesting people there.

One of his new acquaintances is Thurairaj, a lorry driver from Taiping, Perak whose job is transporting bitumen for road laying works.

Jeganathan discovered a hidden artistic talent in the humble Thurairaj. Slowly nurturing his talent and guiding him, Jeganathan says he was pleasantly surprised when his new student produced a fine set of tree sketches.

The married Thurairaj’s most delightful naive representation of trees captures the essence of the simple tree which we often take for granted.
