Teenage Krishna
Artist Rasa Rasika’s line drawing depicting a teenage Krishna interacting with nature’s wonderful creations.
Also referred to as Vanamali, one who roams about in the forest, Krishna brought great joy to the creatures in the forests of Vrindavan.
As a child he and his elder brother Balarama and their friends would lead the calves to graze in the forests around Mount Govardhan.
Many of Krishna’s childhood leelas (pastimes) took place in the forests.
Devotees of Krishna from all over the world regularly carry out padayatra (walking pilgrimage) by circumbulating Mount Govardhan to recollect the wonderful pastimes of Lord Krishna.
