Ginger – Witness of Human Excesses

Explorer ginger

A zinger of a stem
With a childlike nature
With ideas that extend
The limits of the reach
Its roots can puncture

The pupil of an endless
Network of deep
Underground knowledge
Memories so steep
A futuristic image

Can I trust you with a secret?
The ginger cherub asks
Every tuber, bacterium, mushroom
It involuntarily passes

I know of labyrinthine wonders
Powered by Human excesses
The soil is a mutant corpse
Of its past existence

There are metallic tunnels
Carrying black liquids
With rainbow colours
A radioactive jungle flexes
Its automated muscles

I know a way around them
She whispers
I often whizz past them
A dangerous bypass

I can show you around
This alien merry-go-round
The world is infected from, and
Reveal the deepest strand
Where you can remain unaffected
