Lettuce – Call for a Green Revolution
Lettuce rise
What do we want?
A green new deal
When do want it?
Before the iceberg’s killed
Lettuce rise
Every leaf, young and old, unfurls
Towards the skies
Their future-fear unfolds
Watched by a hundred little eyes
A herbaceous pool
Tears apart the machines
Jamming automated hands
With gravel, sand and wool
For those
Who deny
The urgent
Planetary erosion
For those
Who defy
Screams in unison
‘Green jobs for greens’
Chant the
Babes, gramps and teens
Singing
‘Provide us the means,
To escape smokescreens’
