Thanush And His Dog Friends

Thanush a standard six pupil of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Ladang Rinching in Semenyih, Selangor goes to bed at 2am everyday and he has a good reason for this.
This is because Thanush joins his parents everynight to feed about 30 stray dogs at a street near his house.
Interviewed by fellow students at a reading class about how he got the idea to feed the dogs, Thanush said:
“When I was three years old I asked my father for a pet dog. One day my father got three dogs from a friend and we reared them at a store near our house.
“The dogs multiplied and within a few years we had nine dogs.
“When we took the dogs for walks we saw many stray dogs wandering around without food.
“I pitied the dogs and told my parents to do something. We then decided to feed the stray dogs every night after feeding our own dogs at home.”
Thanush who is a school hockey player said he joins his parents every night to feed the dogs near a TNB power station about a kilometre from his home at a flats in Beranang.
Asked where they get the food for the stray dogs, Thanush said:
“My mother cooks chicken soup and rice and mixes them. We put the food in plastic bags and take it to the dogs.”
We should praise Thanush for his kindness towards the stray dogs and follow his good example of showing love and care for the animals around us.
