Asana 14
Eka Pada Rajakapotasana
(One-Legged King Pigeon Pose)
Begin in Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog) but with the right knee bent and held between the hands.
Fold the left leg and bring it forward and then extend the right leg backwards. Pay attention to the kneecap and the top of your foot rested on the floor.
By pressing your fingertips on the floor inhale and lift up your torso, away from your thigh. Keep your extended leg on the floor lying firmly on the mat.
Exhale – hold the pose for 5/10 counts. Repeat same for the other side.
Benefits
A powerful hip-opener which also increases flexibility of the hip joints. At the same time the thighs, groins, and abdomen get a good stretch.
