Tomato – Aspiring Ballerina

Tomato

Starry eyed
The hopeful tomato
Leaps for attention
Landing softly on her feet
She never thought she’d
do it, no,
not her kind of fruit
The berry who lived
To tell the tale

No regret for the time
She let go of her vine
Instead of going splat,
She dropped with a split
And stood up tall
Surviving the fall

The wondrous crowd
kept cheering
The show goes on
The talk of the town
Her red face keeps on
Beaming
