Utthita Trikonasana (Triangle Pose)
We start by inhaling a few times and relaxing the body.
Keep legs 2 to 3 feet apart according to your flexibility – left foot facing the wall and right foot slightly inwards.
Inhale – straighten both arms and lean to the left bringing the left hand to the ground parallel to the left knee.
Lift up the right arm and stretch it towards the ceiling. Exhale – hold the position by looking up and gazing at the right thumb.
Hold the position for 30 counts – free breathing.
Inhale – come up by pressing the right heel down.
Repeat the steps on other side.
BENEFITS
Improves digestion, relieves backache, strengthens knees and ankles. Also gives the spine a good stretch.
