Child & Adult Artist Vision Of Kaliya Krishna

The top line drawing of child Krishna dancing on the hood of the giant Kaliya serpent is by 10-year-old S. Rasa Rasika. The bottom piece was done by the same artist 20 years later.

Notice how the style and strokes of these spontaneous drawings have remained true to the artist’s imagination. This is the key to the artistic expression – preservation of the powers of our imagination.

Sadly today’s modern education geared towards producing servants of industry is guilty of wilfully killing off the imagination of the younger generation. Those children who reject this academic brainwashing are sidelined by the system as being stupid or problematic and end up as misfits of society.
