A majority of the Malaysian Indian community who celebrate Deepavali, the festival of lights which falls on Oct 29 this year are now fully immersed in preparations for the festival.

Photographer S. Sugumaran felt the pulse of the festival preparations at Brickfields Little India in Kuala Lumpur and has captured some colourful scenes there.

The festival of lights brings out the most colourful and striking aspect of Indian culture be it the clothes, traditional street and home decorations and delectable food.
